About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at HMP Oakwood, a Category C men’s Prison located in Featherstone.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Salary: Full‑time position with an annual salary of £29,723 per annum (depending on experience).
Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK; due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Responsibilities
* Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
* Work as an active member of the pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
* Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
* Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing‑based clinical areas
* Collect orders from suppliers at the Main Gate and arrange receipt of returns
* Participate in dispensing of prescriptions

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or Dispensing
* Medicines handling experience desirable, not essential
* Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
* A non‑judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Good IT skills and IT literacy
* Ability to work within a busy environment
* Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
