About the Role
A reputable special school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their secondary team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing and structured environment.
Working closely with class teachers and the wider therapeutic team, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils within the classroom
* Assist in delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities
* Support pupils with SEMH needs to regulate emotions and behaviour
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff
* Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Passionate about supporting children with additional needs

* Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* A strong team player with good communication skills
* Flexible and proactive, with a positive attitude
Essential:
* Experience working with children or young people (school or care setting)
* Understanding of SEMH needs or willingness to learn
