Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Business Support Assistant to work with Wrexham Council on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday). The incoming Business Support Assistant will provide essential administrative support across a range of services. This role is pivotal to the smooth running of departmental operations, offering variety and the opportunity to engage with a wide network of colleagues, customers, and external stakeholders. As part of the admin team, you’ll contribute to maintaining effective systems, data handling, and communications while ensuring a high standard of customer service and confidentiality. Main Duties * Act as the first point of contact for enquiries by phone, email, and face-to-face * Collate and input accurate data into electronic/manual systems and generate reports for senior colleagues * Maintain and update departmental databases and spreadsheets * Provide reception cover and signpost service users effectively * Distribute internal and external communications in a professional and timely manner * Handle incoming/outgoing mail, support diary management, and manage email correspondence * Provide word processing and basic Excel support, including reports, forms, letters, and presentations * Organise meetings, book travel/accommodation, and take and distribute minutes * Set up and manage manual and electronic filing systems. * Ensure confidentiality and compliance with council policies and regulations Essential Criteria * Prior administrative experience in a busy office environment, ideally within a Local Authority / Public Sector entity * Excellent verbal and written communication * Strong customer service and interpersonal skills * Excellent organisational abilities, with a strong ability to prioritise tasks effectively * Capable of maintaining confidentiality and working within procedures * Team player with a positive and professional attitude If your skills match the above crtieria, please apply with your updated CV
