Ob Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while maintaining high standards of childcare and organisational efficiency. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for leading a team of childcare professionals, liaising with parents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Responsibilities Lead and manage the nursery team, including recruitment, training, and performance appraisals Develop and implement educational programmes aligned with early childhood development principles Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in the nursery at all times Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation within the nursery premises Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on childrens progress Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, resource management, and compliance with regulatory requirements Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage during opening hours Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing support to promote professional development Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and reporting Ensure the nursery adheres to all health and safety legislation and policies Experience Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting Extensive knowledge of early childhood education practices and child development stages Experience working directly with children, demonstrating patience and understanding Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting supplies or attending external meetings or events Previous experience in childcare management roles is highly advantageous This role is ideal for a proactive professional committed to delivering exceptional childcare services whilst fostering a positive environment for both children and staff. We are seeking a post holder who is available to begin in January 2026 on a part-time basis to support the pre-opening phase of the nursery.
