What you will do:
- Serve as a scrub practitioner for a variety of surgical procedures, including general and orthopaedic surgeries
- Lead, inspire, and provide mentorship to junior team members, and step in for the Lead Theatre Practitioner when needed
- Foster clear communication with other departments such as Sterile Services, Wards, and Imaging for smooth patient care
- Prepare operating and anaesthetic rooms to the highest standards, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and resources are used efficiently
- Assess patient care needs, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes to maintain quality care standards
What we're looking for:
Essential skills and qualifications include being a registered Practitioner (RN or ODP) proficient in managing surgical lists, and having the experience necessary to plan, organise, and run lists within the theatre suite. It is vital to have experience in supervising staff and scheduling operating lists.
Desirable qualifications include a post-registration qualification as a Practice Supervisor or Assessor, and experience as a Surgical First Assistant. Previous clinical experience in the perioperative environment in Scrub and Anaesthetics in an acute hospital setting, whether NHS or private, will strengthen your application.
