Robert Half are working together with an organisation in Cardiff to hire a a detail‑oriented Reconciliation Officer. This role is central to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and presentation of financial information across managed claims portfolios.

You will be responsible for reconciling bank accounts to underlying ledgers, identifying discrepancies, and working closely with internal teams and external clients to deliver a high‑quality, compliant service. This opportunity suits someone with strong reconciliation and analytical skills who is keen to improve processes and controls.


Key Responsibilities

* Act as the custodian and gatekeeper of client trust accounts, ensuring all funds are protected and managed in line with regulatory and client requirements
* Perform regular verification and reconciliation of bank accounts, ledgers, and financial operating information
* Investigate, identify, and resolve reconciling items or unusual transactions using sound problem‑solving skills
* Build effective working relationships with internal teams to ensure clear communication and timely delivery of client requirements
* Serve as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring service delivery meets agreed expectations and commitments
* Support and contribute to client audits, including pre‑audit preparation, audit participation, and post‑audit reviews
* Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements
* Undertake other reasonable duties as required by management


About You

* Previous experience in bank account reconciliation, financial administration, or a similar finance role
* Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
* Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with both internal stakeholders and external clients
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Proactive mindset with a genuine interest in improving processes and controls
