We have a unique opportunity for an Apprentice Mechanical Fire Pump Engineer where you'll earn while you learn! We will teach you how to install, service, test, and repair fire suppression systems and equipment in accordance with relevant service standards and specifications.
As an apprentice, you’ll engage in a hands-on learning experience, developing new skills while building connections with our knowledgeable staff.
What You’ll Do at Work
1. Service, test, and install fire suppression systems and pumps; disassemble and reconstruct equipment.
2. Perform installation, servicing, testing, and repairs on systems and equipment according to standards and specifications.
3. Install systems based on fabrication drawings and specifications.
4. Complete engineering reports, handover certificates, and pressure test certificates or checklists accurately.
5. Undertake other duties as assigned by your line manager.
Where You’ll Work
You will be expected to cover the Midlands and the North of England. Further UK travel may be required, so working away and occasionally staying over in hotels may be necessary.
Training
College or Training Organisation: Train'd Up
Your Training Course: Maintenance and operations engineering technician level 3
Your Training Plan: Enrol in a level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician delivered by Train'd Up alongside fellow Johnson Controls apprentices. Engage in day release training and receive on-the-job guidance from experienced mentors and engineers.
Requirements / Essential Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 5) essential
* GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 5) essential
* Full driving licence essential

Upon completion, there are many internal opportunities within the company. Many previous apprentices have become lead engineers, managing their own teams and projects.
