Role description:
This role will focus on supporting the Energy Network and Transmission BIM team with delivering BIM and digital deliverables at project and sector levels. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help drive excellence for our client. The candidate should have a keen interest in digital applications within the construction industry and some understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and ACC. Proactivity in exploring new digital solutions and the ability to upskill team members in new technologies are essential.
The role consists of three main areas: Supporting Project Delivery, Team Development, and Digital Applications. There will be opportunities to learn new skills such as Python, Dynamo, and Power Automate as the role develops, with initiatives to grow capability, ensure quality, and accelerate delivery.
Role accountabilities:
You will be responsible for preparing 3D/2D models in Revit/AutoCAD for Main Plant, Civil, Protection and Control Circuits, Mechanical, Substations, and Transmission routes. You will also prepare 2D sheets from models according to company and client standards, liaising with the lead business and team members for design drawing preparation. Managing the implementation and maintenance of a Common Data Environment and supporting the development of the BIM team—including writing procedures, research and development, team mentoring, etc.—are also key responsibilities.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required, along with being self-motivated, assertive, and capable of working under pressure independently or as part of a team.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating information exchange between design disciplines, ensuring compliance with Arcadis' management systems, and adhering to health and safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
* A degree or qualification in a relevant technical subject, including elements of modeling (HND/HNC or equivalent).
* Goal to achieve Engineering Technician status or equivalent through a recognized professional institution, with potential to convert to Incorporated status.
* Relevant experience in design, drafting, engineering, or BIM.
