School Caretaker - Secondary School Harrow ASAP Start

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a highly regarded secondary school in Harrow that is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their site team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, long-term position, working Monday to Friday, ideal for someone with previous experience in facilities or premises management within a school or similar environment.
This will involve a shift working pattern where you work either: 6am to 2pm, 8am to 4pm or 12pm to 6pm.
About the Role
As a School Caretaker, your duties will include:
* Ensuring the school site is clean, safe, and secure at all times.
* Carrying out minor repairs and basic maintenance (DIY tasks such as changing bulbs, fixing doors, unblocking drains, etc.).
* Opening and closing the school premises each day, including responsibility for alarm systems and site security.
* Supporting with setting up rooms for school events, exams, and meetings.
* Monitoring stock levels and ordering cleaning and maintenance supplies when needed.
* Liaising with external contractors and reporting any significant site issues to the Site Manager or Business Manager.
* Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times, including compliance with fire safety and risk assessments.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, or Facilities Assistant, ideally in a school or similar setting.
* Good basic maintenance and DIY skills.
* A solid understanding of health and safety procedures and site security.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with a proactive attitude.
* Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling duties.
* An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
