Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an Event Management Consultant to support both operational and project-based activities within a Hosting and Tooling team. This role involves working closely with consultants, engineers, and analysts to deliver event management solutions, provide system analysis, and maintain operational tooling aligned with client requirements.
What you will do:
* Liaise directly with client teams to provide guidance and technical support.
* Create and implement event management policies for internal services and client solutions.
* Perform high-level functional system analysis to support client requirements.
* Maintain and optimise operational tooling in line with service deliverables.
* Execute project tasks and collaborate with internal and external project managers.
* Produce technical documentation and architectural diagrams.
* Build and maintain operational dashboards to support monitoring and reporting needs.
* Configure and manage enterprise tooling platforms including BMC TrueSight and Splunk.
* Deploy and manage monitoring agents across environments.
* Install, customise, and enhance tooling products.
* Develop automation scripts and system integrations using appropriate technologies.
* Apply continuous learning through training, certifications, and hands-on experience.
Qualifications
* Active DV clearance is required for this role.
* Proven experience with enterprise-level tooling and associated certifications.
* Strong expertise in BMC TrueSight Orchestration, Splunk, and event management practices.
* Experience managing tooling platforms such as BMC TrueSight, BMC Discovery, and Splunk.
* Knowledge of agent deployment, product installation, and customisation.
* Experience with SNMP MIB management and monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, HP OpenView, SolarWinds, IBM Tivoli Monitoring, and IBM Tivoli Netcool.
* Strong technical experience working across Windows, AIX, and Linux environments.
* Proficiency in scripting languages including Python and PowerShell.
* Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
* Experience developing automation scripts and integrating systems using technologies such as REST APIs.
* In-depth knowledge of Splunk capabilities, including query language (SPL), advanced rule creation, SQL coding, and dashboard development.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills within secure and complex environments.
