The opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join the Department of Space and Climate Physics (Mullard Space Science Laboratory), University College London (UCL). This is a full-time, fixed-term position for two years, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
Responsibilities
1. Support the design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and delivery of MSSL scientific instruments for space missions.
2. Work within the Product Assurance Group to ensure quality standards are met throughout the development process.
3. Assist in maintaining configuration control practices.
4. Provide on-the-job training and support to team members on aspects of space instrument development.
Qualifications and Experience
* Educated to A Level (minimum of 2 at grade B or above) or equivalent in technical or science subjects.
* Good knowledge of the space industry, aerospace, or a similar industry is essential.
* Experience in quality roles within space or aeronautics is desired but not mandatory.
* Ability to adapt and meet new challenges quickly, supporting all aspects of instrument development.
Additional Information
Good knowledge of configuration control practices and an interest in the quality role in space or aerospace are important. Training and support will be provided for unfamiliar areas.
