Our drivers can only deliver our products if they know where to go. Our warehouse operatives can only prepare orders if they know what needs to be shipped out. Our management team can only know what's been delivered if someone has uploaded the delivery notes onto our SAP system. This is the difference you make. You're the person that makes sure everything keeps on moving, and our customers get their orders as quickly, and efficiently, as possible.
You won't have a lot of direct customer contact, we have a customer service team for that – But you will have a busy mailbox to manage, ensuring queries are resolved and orders are managed effectively. Your skill with Excel, and word, will really help to be able to keep organised and on top of the daily tasks.
Many jobs say that "No two days are the same" – This isn't the case here. Whilst the times, or items might change, this role needs stability and reliability. There are key elements of our supply chain that are reliant on specific things happening at specific times, every day. You'd be responsible for those things happening.
A day in the life of a Logistics Administrator will involve:
* Producing daily transport plans for our drivers, and picking plans for our warehouse operatives.
* Communicating clearly with team members so that everybody know what is expected of them.
* Ensuring export documentation is correct, so that our customers overseas can get our goods through customs.
* Making sure all paperwork is accurate related to the dispatch, delivery and return of any of our goods.
* Communicating via email and telephone with other departments, and on occasion customers, to ensure that the best service is delivered.
To be a successful Logistics Administrator, you'll need:
* To be willing to learn about our processes and products, and how to use our software.
* To be able to commit to our working pattern and be able to get to our warehouse. Public transport can be tricky, so a reliable way of getting here is needed.
* To have a can-do attitude and be able to work to tight, often inflexible deadlines.
* To have experience with Microsoft word, excel, and outlook.
* Ideally, you'll have experience in a similar role, in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. You'll also ideally have experience using SAP.
In return for your commitment and expertise, you'll get:
* Holidays – You'll get 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays) which increases to 38 days with length of service.
* Your birthday off – On top of your annual leave allowance, you'll also get your birthday off – Paid If it lands on a weekend, you can take it the day before or after
