SEN Teacher Location: Maidstone, Kent The Role Academics are recruiting an experienced and resilient SEN Teacher to work within an Alternative Provision in Maidstone, supporting students across the KS3 curriculum. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about re-engaging learners who may have faced barriers in mainstream education. You will be teaching small groups of pupils with a range of SEN and SEMH needs, adapting the KS3 curriculum to meet individual learning styles and support both academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the KS3 curriculum Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, and behavioural needs Build positive relationships to re-engage students with learning Manage behaviour using a calm, consistent, and restorative approach Track progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly Work closely with support staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Holds QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification) Has experience teaching KS3, ideally in an alternative provision or SEN setting Is confident supporting pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour Is adaptable, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education Can build strong, trusting relationships with young people Experience within alternative provision is highly desirable, though teachers with relevant SEN or behaviour management experience are encouraged to apply.
