Fabric Technician
Location: Peterborough (PE1)
Contract: Temporary
We are currently recruiting for a Fabric Technician to join a busy facilities management contract based in Peterborough. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong fabric maintenance and painting & decorating experience, working within amercial environment.
The role:
You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive fabric maintenance tasks across the site, ensuring the building is kept to a high standard and remains safe and operational at all times.
Key duties include:
1. Carrying out reactive fabric repairs
2. Inspecting and repairing floors, walls, doors, windows and associated fittings
3. Painting and decorating works across the site as required
4. Minor repairs to freestanding and fitted furniture
5. Assisting engineering staff with general maintenance tasks
6. Maintaining accurate maintenance, health & safety and quality records
7. Managing tools, equipment and consumable stock
8. Undertaking additional duties as directed by the Contract Manager or Facilities Supervisor
What we’re looking for:
9. Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator or Fabric Technician
10. Strong all-round fabric maintenance skillset
11. Good knowledge of painting techniques and methods
12. Plastering experience (advantageous but not essential)
13. Sound understanding of Health & Safety requirements
14. Reliable, proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team.
