Join to apply for the Bank Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician - HMP Bristol role at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As part of the South West Prison Healthcare contract, we are expanding recruitment for compassionate, knowledgeable and motivated Pharmacy Technicians to join our friendly team at HMP Bristol on a bank basis. You will work within the OPS pharmacy service, enjoying NHS AfC employment with the opportunity for career and personal development.
Responsibilities
* Provide a medicines management service to patients within the prison, with professional support from a prison service pharmacist.
* Administer medicines to patients against valid prescriptions and provide advice on the appropriate use of medicines and healthy lifestyles to aid rehabilitation.
* Dispense prescriptions and stock items, supervising assistants in the dispensary.
* Engage in stock control activities, such as undertaking stock top-up services, reviewing expiry dates, and monitoring storage facilities for all medicines; report deficiencies to the prison service pharmacist.
* Support a forward-thinking service aimed at developing clinical and interpersonal skills and career progression.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Compassionate, knowledgeable and motivated Pharmacy Technician with the ability to work in a prison healthcare setting.
* Ability to provide medicines management services under supervision of a prison service pharmacist.
* Interest in career and personal development within NHS AfC employment (pension included).
