We’re working with a forward-thinking special school in Maidenhead that provides individualised, evidence-based education to autistic children and young people aged 4–16. Their approach blends structure, consistency and compassion – offering pupils the tools they need to thrive both academically and emotionally. They’re looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team – someone who is calm, proactive and truly enjoys helping children access learning in a way that works for them. You’ll work alongside teachers, therapists and behaviour teams in a setting that’s well-resourced, positive and deeply focused on each child’s progress. What’s the role? Supporting learners with communication, emotional regulation and day-to-day routines Following tailored learning plans, visual aids and strategies rooted in ABA and evidence-based practice Working 1:1 and in small groups in a calm, structured and supportive environment Ongoing training and long-term progression opportunities – the school is passionate about developing their team What we’re looking for: Someone patient, empathetic and consistent – strong relationships are key here Experience in SEN or autism is a bonus, but not essential – the right attitude goes a long way Confident to support with personal care and sensory regulation, where needed Someone who’s happy to work closely with a multidisciplinary team and open to learn.
