Length of employment: Job Summary: The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 12,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Job Description: An exciting job role exists in the Cyber and Security Team as the Security Organisational Lessons and Learning Manager working within the inclusive and innovative Cyber and Security team, part of the Information Directorate within Army Headquarters. Led by a Senior Civil Servant it has a diverse and highly capable workforce. The Army approach is to anticipate, prepare for, respond, and adapt to sudden disruptive events, across, cyber, physical and personnel, both malicious and non-malicious. Through this role, you will have the opportunity to develop a broader understanding of the security risks facing the Army across the physical, cyber and personnel. As a new post in a new team, there is a real opportunity for you to shape Army security, making it fit for the future threat landscape. You will also become a member of the Government Security Profession, and there are further opportunities for continued professional development. The successful candidate must be comfortable engaging with wider Defence, Government, and industry. Occasional travel within the UK will be required but this will rarely demand overnight stays. We are looking for a person with a relevant experience in lessons and organisational learning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will be required to: Develop processes and tooling for security lesson identification, escalation and management through the Army TLB Identity lessons of sufficient importance to be added to the Defence Lessons Identified Management System (DLIMS) and manage them accordingly Maintain oversight of the totality of security lessons identified and analyse to identify emerging trends and themes, flagging them to the Army Organisation Learning Steering Group (AOLSG) through the Functional Lessons Analyst (FLA) Take ownership of lessons that breach the thresholds defined in Army security lessons policy and manage the subsequent Lesson Analysis phase Support the FLA prepare for their attendance at the AOLSG meetings, deputising for them as appropriate Champion the Army Lessons Process, providing advice and guidance to the Chain of Command on security lessons Engage with Army and Defence counter parts to drive improvement across the lessons function Develop and managing internal lesson identification and learning processes for Counter Intelligence and Security Branch Provide input to, and peer review relevant content in Army and Defence training, education and awareness materials and support Army Security Culture improvement activities If you are a strong communicator able to engage with stakeholders across government, work efficiently and at pace, across multiple IT systems and security classifications, we need you!
