About the role
The Biostatistics Research Group, Division of Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Leicester is seeking a Senior Research Associate/Research Fellow to join on a fixed‑term basis for up to 3 years. The successful candidate will play a central role in the NIHR‑MRC funded methodology research programme involving methods for evaluation of surrogate endpoints and their use in health technology assessment (HTA). The research will involve undertaking a range of techniques, including individual participant data (IPD) and multivariate meta‑analysis methods development, survival analysis for extrapolations and decision modelling. The role offers valuable experience in analysing data from a range of sources of evidence, including clinical trials and electronic health records, and engagement with interdisciplinary stakeholders such as academics, public and patients’ representatives, industry representatives and policy‑makers (including NICE).
About you
This is an excellent opportunity for a methodologist with a strong foundation in statistical methods applied to HTA research, who is looking to further develop their expertise. The successful applicant will have a PhD in Medical Statistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Economics or a closely related area, and postdoctoral‑level experience in advanced evidence synthesis, including Bayesian inference. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team are essential. The postholder will be encouraged to develop their own methodological research interests and support a personal fellowship application.
