This role will be on a Hybrid working basis, and has the potential of being outside of IR35
Role Profile:-
Produce design documents which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively.
Produce outline electrical, instrumentation and control design on contracts
Carryout surveys at site visits
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests at suppliers premises and produce reports
Ensure designs produced and those of sub-contractors meet the requirements of the specification
Ensure designs are within budget and produce the best overall outcome for the business.
Responsibility for EC&I technical input including preparation, checking and/or approval of engineering documentation
Allocating work and ensuring delivery against plan
Ensuring all applicable national and international codes of practice, legislation and company/client standards and procedures are complied with
Preparing equipment and materials requisitions EICA equipment
Preparing installation scopes of work
Reviewing supplier's quotations and preparing technical bid assessments
More specific tasks could include:
HV Design
Site Construction and Commissioning Support
Qualifications:
Degree in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electronic / Electrical / Control Engineering) Apprenticeships may be considered
Chartered or Incorporated engineer status with a relevant professional body or evidence of working towards gaining these professional titles
Technical Experience: Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the relevant sector
>15 years engineering experience in the relevant or similar sectors
In depth knowledge of UK legislation and standards including WIMES
Knowledge in the requirements for installation of equipment in potentially explosive areas
Experience in the requirements for CE marking of plant and equipment, including ATEX, PED, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive and EMC Compliance
