Childrens Residential Support Worker Location: Leicester Salary: £25,500 £26,900 per annum Additional Earnings: £3,000 £9,000 per year from sleep-ins Hours: 08:0022:00, 39 hours per week (long day shifts plus sleep-ins) Contract: Full-time, temporary contract with opportunity to become permanent Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence essential (rural location) About the Role Our client is seeking compassionate and dedicated Childrens Residential Support Workers to join their team, supporting children and young people in a nurturing, family-style residential home. The children and young people in their care have complex needs, learning difficulties and a range of communication needs, including non-verbal communication. Many have autism and require patient, consistent and understanding support tailored to their individual needs. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference. You will play a key role in helping young people feel safe, valued and empowered to live happy, fulfilling lives within a structured and supportive home environment. Due to the rural location of the home, a full UK driving licence is essential to support activities, appointments and community access. No Experience? No Problem. Experience in care is not required what matters most is your attitude, resilience and commitment. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain a safe, warm and supportive home environment Support children with daily living skills and routines Use alternative communication approaches to engage with non-verbal young people Provide personal care where required, with dignity and respect Encourage independence, confidence and social development Build strong, trusting and professional relationships Take part in engaging activities such as football, gaming, bowling and community outings Support attendance at appointments, education and social activities Contribute to maintaining a clean, welcoming and homely environment Every day is different but every day is meaningful.
