They are now seeking a commercially minded Data Analyst to join their team in Glasgow, playing a key role in transforming operational and MRP data into actionable business insight.
Job Overview As Data Analyst, you will focus on extracting, analysing, and transforming manufacturing and MRP data into meaningful insights and intuitive Power BI reports. You will work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and Manufacturing to improve performance visibility, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Data Analysis & Insight Analyse MRP and operational data relating to materials, production, inventory, demand, capacity, and lead times.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within manufacturing data.
Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Support root cause analysis for issues such as stock shortages, excess inventory, late orders, and production inefficiencies.
Reporting & Power BI Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports across the business.
Ensure reports align with key business KPIs and are visually intuitive.
Build automated and self-service reporting solutions.
Continuously improve reporting based on stakeholder feedback.
Support standardisation of core metrics across sites.
Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with department leads to understand business challenges and reporting needs.
Act as a trusted data partner to Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance teams.
Present insights and recommendations clearly to a range of audiences.
Support stakeholders in using data effectively for decision-making.
Data Governance & Quality Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports.
Document data definitions, metrics, and report logic.
Support improvements to data structures and reporting processes.
Highlight data quality issues and work with system owners to resolve them.
Skills & Experience Essential Proven experience in a Data Analyst / BI role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong experience working with MRP / ERP data.
Advanced Power BI skills including data modelling.
Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation.
Ability to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Experience within engineering or discrete manufacturing.
Understanding of supply chain, production planning, and inventory management.
Experience working with large, complex datasets.
Exposure to continuous improvement or lean environments.
