Mechanical Engineer – Water Team, Scotland
Work with AECOM's Water Team in Scotland to support the SR27 Enterprise program with Scottish Water, delivering sustainable and resilient water systems from 2027 to 2033. The role offers a hybrid work model and opportunities to contribute to a major public‑private partnership.
Responsibilities
* Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design, and construction support.
* Produce plant layouts, design drawings, mechanical plant selection, specifications, WIMES Data Sheets, valve schedules, equipment schedules, lifting strategies, hydraulic headloss calculations, and P&IDs for water projects.
* Liaise and collaborate with water, civil, electrical, process, and mechanical engineering teams nationwide.
* Visit site to carry out surveys and support liaison with clients, contractors & suppliers.
* Attend and contribute to design review meetings such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, ALMs and SWIFTS.

Qualifications
* A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
* Progress toward Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution such as IMechE.
* Proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications and calculations with confidence and precision.
* Hands‑on experience delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects.
