Quality Auditor (8-month fixed term contract) Blackburn 6am-2pm (Monday-Friday) £13.90 per hour BBF Limited Role Purpose: To develop and monitor the quality systems in the achievement of continuous improvement in quality of performance and cost. Providing expertise and support to the bakery operations, championing local project improvement initiatives. Communicating and implementing the requirements of our company Group Technical Standards through the application and development of Best Practice. Ensuring that all products are safe, legal and compliant with customer specifications. Main Duties & Responsibilities The role will manage the internal auditing systems (i.e. Glass & Plastic audit, GMP audit, HACCP audit) and ensure that all audits are completed to the agreed frequency and that all close outs are completed in a timely manner. Daily taste panels production samples shall be completed with a cross functional team and shall be carried out by the Quality Systems Auditor. All actions from the panels shall be communicated across the bakery. To ensure that quality management systems, operating practices and process controls are developed, implemented and adhered to by staff to deliver consistent quality performance and Good Manufacturing Practice. To advise the site teams on company standards relating to GMP, food safety, quality and hygiene. To promote and develop technical service competency and continuously challenge and improve technical operational effectiveness. Develop initiatives which enhance the manufacturing operation through reduced costs and improved quality particularly in areas such as process monitoring & control. Escalation of non-conformance's raised during internal and external audits. Monitoring of systems to ensure compliance to company and regulatory standards concerning food safety, hygiene and quality. Reporting into the QA Manager and working as a team of 5 Systems Auditors. This role is to develop and monitor the quality systems at the Shadsworth and Blackburn Bakery. Additional Accountabilities: Maintain a current knowledge of professional technical standards and changes in customer codes of practices. To work alongside operational colleagues to ensure effective training of staff in matters relating to food safety, legality and quality. Adherence to policies and procedures, at all times. Living the BBF Values. Conducting additional tasks as required by the QA Manager. Performance Measures KPI’s Consumer Complaints Audit Performance – Extrinsic and Internal (Including BRC, GTS’s, Pest Control and Retailer Inspections) Assessment Scoring of products Samples collection (micro, retained, nutritional etc) Completion of daily tasks as laid out by the QA Manager Knowledge, Skills & Experience At least 1 years technical/hygiene experience with a clear track record of achievement, preferably with food manufacturing experience.
