An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit for a full-time permanent Child Protection Coordinator.
The post holder will have at least 3 years post qualifying experience, be able to display and promote restorative practice whilst demonstrating enthusiasm and passion for protecting children and young people across the city.
Responsibilities
* Chair Initial Child Protection Conferences and Child Protection Reviews using the Restorative Conferencing and Family Partnership Model.
* Be proactive in ensuring best outcomes for children and young people subject to child protection.
* Offer expert advice, support, consultation and mediation on practice issues to Children’s Services staff on individual cases.
* Demonstrate substantial experience with children and families, including Child Protection, Child in Need and Care Proceedings.
* Have good knowledge of specific child protection matters such as Forced Marriage, Fabricated Illness, Female Genital Mutilation, Sexually Harmful Behaviour Planning meetings and Trafficking.

Qualifications
Prospective candidates will be social work qualified and will demonstrate substantial experience in work with children and families, including cared for children, care proceedings and child protection, as a practitioner and in some kind of supervisory capacity.
