We are seeking a highly skilled Science Teacher (Physics Specialist) to join a dynamic secondary school for a September 2025 start! This is an outstanding opportunity to inspire the next generation of physicists and engineers.
This is a full-time, temp-to-perm role, offering the security of a potential permanent contract. You will be teaching Physics across all secondary key stages, including A-Level Physics. We are searching for a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher (Physics Specialist) to enhance the department.
About The Role:
As a Science Teacher (Physics Specialist), you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and rigorous Physics lessons from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level. You will ignite curiosity, foster deep conceptual understanding, and equip students with the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary for success in Physics and beyond.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver outstanding Physics lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
* Assess, monitor, record, and report on student progress, providing targeted feedback to facilitate high achievement.
* Create a positive, challenging, and stimulating learning environment that encourages scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the Science curriculum, with a particular focus on Physics.
* Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and continuous professional development opportunities.
* Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to support student well-being and academic success.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK OR a minimum of 5 years' demonstrable experience teaching Physics to secondary level.
* A relevant degree in Physics or a closely related scientific field.
* Proven experience teaching Physics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and critically, up to A-Level in a UK secondary school.
* A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Science and A-Level Physics specifications.
* Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities, particularly at higher levels.
* A genuine passion for Physics and a desire to foster a deep understanding and appreciation for the subject.
* Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to the wider school community.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
