We have 12 places available on our 18-month Care Apprenticeship Programme – open to anyone who is passionate about helping others. You don’t need previous care experience, and you don’t even need to live in Fife (as long as you can travel).

7. Career Progression – many apprentices move into permanent roles or continue studying to diploma/degree level.
8. Supportive Mentoring – you’ll have guidance every step of the way.
How It Works
Our apprenticeship is split into three parts:
Part 1 – Full induction, initial training, and support to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Part 2 – Weekly college attendance (during paid working hours) to study for your qualification.
Part 3 – Completion of your qualification, career guidance, and progression opportunities
Where You Could Work
You’ll be employed by Fife Council within the Health & Social Care Partnership, working 36 hours a week across a variety of shifts (mainly days/evenings, with optional nights).
Placements could include:
9. Adult Services – working with people aged 16+ with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or mental health needs.
10. Care at Home / MECS – supporting people in the community, responding to urgent care needs, and helping people live safely at home.
Your Qualification

“I’ve always wanted to work with people with additional support needs, and this Modern Apprenticeship allowed me to do so. I love interacting with the service users and learning new things as part of my role. I am currently learning moving and handling and about medication.”
“I wanted to work with Fife Council because I’d heard it’s great to work for and because I value the security it offers. I’m training to administer medication and working towards my SVQ Level 2. My ambition is to pass the qualification I’m training for, and, after my apprenticeship, get a permanent post and progress within the organisation. I would recommend Fife Council as a workplace as everyone has been welcoming, more than helpful and always ready to help.”
