Job Description:
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to use your leadership and operational expertise in the delivery of a new medical school? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to be the Head of Operations at the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM).
Imperial College London and the University of Cumbria have formed the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM). Our first students start a bespoke 4-year postgraduate MBBS programme on the 26th of August. Applying Imperial’s expertise in medical education and the University of Cumbria’s experience in training nurses, midwives, and other health professions, we aim to train doctors who are embedded in their local community, ready to contribute to regional services and beyond.
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the operational delivery of this unique Medical School.
The PCSM Head of Operations is a senior leadership role within the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London, holding overall administrative responsibility for PCSM. The post holder will:
* Lead the PCSM operational staff, supporting the Head of School to deliver strategic priorities and translate them into operational excellence.
* Manage and coordinate interfaces with external partners, such as NHS organizations across northwest England, ensuring these do not adversely affect the student experience.
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the PCSM annual financial plan and budget.
* Maintain a close relationship with medical students to support their experience.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in senior managerial or leadership roles, such as in medical education, health-related postgraduate courses, or healthcare environments. They will demonstrate experience in building and maintaining successful relationships with internal stakeholders and leading an inclusive team.
* The opportunity to advance your career at a world-leading institution and contribute to our mission to use science for humanity.
* Enjoy a sector-leading salary and benefits package, including 39 days of annual leave and a generous pension scheme.
* Access workplace benefits such as flexible working, family leave, on-site leisure facilities, and a cycle-to-work scheme.
* Interest-free season ticket loans for travel.
* Be part of a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work culture with resources to support your personal and professional development.
