Job Overview Driver Training Manager As the Trust evolves to continue supporting the education and development of our people, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for proactive and enthusiastic Driver Training Manager. take a lead expert role in all driver training aspects of the Trust’s business, ensuring legislation and national policies are adheredtoo. To lead the driving work-streams within the development workforce strategy /action plan and achieve Trust’s targets and strategic outcomes To advise and report to the Trust on all matters related to driving skills and knowledge and support the Trust’s Driving Standards Manager, Risk Management and Integrated Governance team(s) to promote accident prevention and reduce driving related incidents To continually develop driving training programmes, quality assure the driving instructors delivery of the programmes and be the lead for driving qualifications with the awarding body. Based: post-holders will be allocated a specific dispatch desk as their primary location which will be agreed at appointment. Posts will be based in Kent, Sussex and Surrey. Post-holders will also be expected to travel across the Trust’s geographical area as required in order to meet objectives. Working pattern: post-holders will work a 37.5hr week, 0900-1700, Mon-Fri. Hours of work: Posts are available as full-time or fractional (part time 0.5 WTE) appointments, and flexible working requests will be considered. Main duties of the job The role will focus on the l ine management responsibilities of all driving instructors, administrators and tutors seconded / bank staff for appraisals, recruitment and selection and day to daymanagement. Post-holders will manage a number of Driver Training locations and driver training vehicles, with overall responsibility for building health and safety and managing vehicle maintenance programmes and processes with Fleet. Please note that the salary range noted on the vacancy is in line with agenda for change (AFC) pay scales. All successful applicants would be placed automatically at the bottom of the banding, unless proven, relevant NHS or equivalent experience can be demonstrated. Following the revision of current national legislation (Vaccine as a Condition of Deployment), the Trust has reviewed our requirements relating to staff uptake of the SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) vaccination. Going forward, for patient facing positions, we strongly recommend that new starters will be appropriately vaccinated unless medically exempt in order to offer greater protection against exposure to the virus for front line staff.
