Job description
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) Project Master Schedule (PMS) from bid and proposal stage through to execution and project close-out. You will ensure stakeholder alignment, accurate progress tracking, and the delivery of robust planning information to support critical decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive planner with strong Primavera P6 skills and experience in complex engineering or shipbuilding projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage the Project Master Schedule (PMS) in line with contract specifications.
2. Review contractual documentation to support schedule development, execution, and close-out.
3. Build and manage schedules in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
4. Conduct and facilitate Schedule Risk Analysis workshops to validate programme integrity.
5. Develop and maintain the Project Schedule Risk Register.
6. Integrate subcontractor and third-party schedules into the PMS.
7. Ensure continuous stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Manage project schedule change control processes, reflecting accurate time and cost variations.
9. Coordinate with planners to collect and validate schedule progress data.
10. Develop recovery plans to mitigate programme slippages.
11. Produce and deliver schedule delay analysis reports to the Project Management Team (PMT).

14. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to liaise across all stakeholder levels in a heavy engineering environment.
15. Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
16. Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
17. Fit and mobile - able to work both in the Yard, workshops, and onboard vessels.
18. Willing to mentor and coach junior planners.
19. A self-starter with some marine, shipbuilding, or large-scale construction experience.
Required Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
20. Previous experience as a Planner in a construction, manufacturing, or marine environment (shipbuilding desirable).
21. Proven background in project and production planning.
22. Higher National qualification (or above) in a relevant discipline.
23. Advanced understanding of planning and scheduling principles and techniques.
24. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
25. Strong IT skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

26. Predominately office based, so needs to be in commuting distance.
27. 37 hour standard week
28. Day rate dependant on experience - to be discussed at qualification stage
