Enablement Director – Data & AI
Location: Dublin, Leeds or London. Hybrid work model. Permanent position.
We’re looking for an Enablement Director – Data & AI to join us at Flutter. This role is part of the Enablement SuperTribe leadership team and will be reporting to the MD of Enablement.
As the Lead, you will create a world‑class engineering environment by leading our Data and AI Platform functions. Your mission is to deliver the next‑generation Data and AI platforms that enable our Product Development teams and the wider business to accelerate the delivery of capabilities to our customers.
What you’ll do
* Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the Data Platform and AI Platform.
* Build and lead distributed, multi‑disciplinary teams that design, deliver, and operate internal products with a focus on reliability, cost efficiency, and engineering productivity.
* Partner with leaders across Product and Engineering in a "two‑in‑a‑box" model to ensure your platform roadmaps align with business priorities.
* Drive the vision and delivery of the next‑generation AI platform to unlock new business capabilities and supercharge the business.
* Champion a "platform‑as‑a‑product" approach, focused on delivering capabilities that are leveraged across the organisation.
* Drive key technical and architectural decisions for the data, AI, and developer experience landscapes.
* Own the budget, workforce planning, and supplier management for your domains.
* Actively contribute to the Enablement Leadership Team, shaping the evolution of our strategy, operating model, and culture.
How you’ll do it
* Proven Technology Leader: significant track record at a senior level leading Data, AI, and Platform Engineering functions in a complex, fast‑paced tech environment.
* Strategic Programme Delivery: strong experience leading Data and AI initiatives and a proven ability to deliver key strategic programmes from concept to value realisation.
* Technical Depth: deep expertise in modern data platforms, data engineering, AI/ML enablement, cloud technologies, and developer experience principles.
* Platform Experience: successfully built and scaled central technology platforms, ideally shifting teams from a project to a product‑oriented operating model.
* Strategic Thinker: ability to create a compelling vision that connects business needs with technology solutions and execute against it.
* Exceptional People Leader: passion for developing talent with a proven ability to attract, retain, and grow top engineers and leaders in a distributed model.
* Highly Collaborative: builds trust and influence at all levels, with proven ability to work effectively in matrixed environments, particularly in a "two‑in‑a‑box" product and engineering structure.
