Job Description
To work under the direction of the class teacher and senior staff to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in accessing a broad and balanced curriculum. The SEN Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in helping pupils develop both educationally and socially, working 1:1 or with small groups, and supporting behaviour, communication, and physical needs as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the learning and emotional wellbeing of pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis.
* Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of activities and interventions that meet individual needs.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
* Promote positive behaviour and help manage challenging behaviour in line with school policies.
* Support the development of pupils' communication and interaction skills.
* Help maintain detailed and accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour.
* Support pupils with personal care and hygiene needs, where required.
* Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all pupils.
* Attend training sessions and team meetings as required.
