Soho Farmhouse...
Surrounded by 100 acres of Oxfordshire countryside, Soho Farmhouse is a destination for food and drink, wellness and outdoor activities. Two hours' drive or a short train from London, we have 114 bedrooms, including cabins, huts and farmhouse bedrooms to stay in, a state-of-the-art gym, Cowshed Spa, an indoor and outdoor pool and cinema. We have multiple food and beverage outlets on site, The Main Barn is the central hub, serving the club menu all day. On the mezzanine, Comfy Farm has sofas and an open fire place, while Fancy Farm is a more formal setting for lunch or dinner. There is also Pen Yen for Japanese izakaya-style dishes from the robata grill, bind and sashimi, and Blake's Kitchen for fresh bread, sausage rolls and cinnamon buns. Finally, there is The Little Bell, a local favourite, for nose-to-tail cooking and natural wine.
The Role...
At Soho House, the Receiver handles and processes all food and beverage stock that is ordered for the house. As the Receiver, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness of storage areas, back landing, dry storage, wash area, and walk ins, chef storage, freight elevator, and garbage room. A successful Receiver will maintain an efficient flow of goods, which involves documenting, storing, locating, and distributing stock for the departments. Responsibilities also include the inspection and sort shipments while keeping up with invoices to ensure orders are correct.
Main Duties
Receive all perishable and non-perishable beverage and food orders and verify plus document the quantity received of all produce, fruits, dry goods, liqueur, chemicals, and supplies. Provide support to vendors and management in the receiving of all other supplies as needed Check received merchandise (quality and quantity) and reject unacceptable merchandise Distribute merchandise accordingly to food safety rules and storage orders. Ensure the smooth working of FIFO of walk ins and freezer Conduct inventory as advised and communicate results to management Daily checklist with overnight porter Wipe down and sanitize all areas of bar storage to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the storage of consumable items Prep ingredients for kitchen requirements Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
What we are looking for...
1+ years' relative experience with a similar role, with Kitchen experience Ability to read and write English, ability to read labels and following safety instructions. Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects by hand Able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
Expected working hours for a Good Receiver/ Prep Chef:
Varying shift times across the seven days, to include working evenings, weekends, opens & closes Average hours 32-45 hours per week
