Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Quality & Safety Manager, Divisional Director of Nursing and Chief of Service (divisional governance triumvirate), be responsible for developing and supporting robust quality and safety structures and processes for the Division. In addition, the post holder will deputise as Chief of Service (COS) in the chief’s absence and lead in specific areas agreed with the COS, and develop their own leadership skills.
The Digital Integration role will be to support the digitisation of services and safe digital practice within the Division, be accountable for the stewardship of clinical applications used within the Division and to provide clinical leadership in respect of delivery of the Trust’s digital and data strategies within the Division. The postholder will work closely with the IT Services and Digital and Data governance to ensure compliance with good digital and data management processes, and will support the identification and delivery of training necessary to deliver the Trust’s digital and data strategies within the Division
The Research and Innovation role will support the Divisional Chief of Service and Divisional Leadership Team in providing clinical leadership for Research and Innovation (R&I) for the Division across all University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust sites. The appointee will be an established researcher in their own right with a track record of success in establishing and delivering high-impact clinical research. They will have experience of leading clinical trials and other forms of clinical research and a strong understanding of research governance and ICH Good Clinical Practice. They will have a good knowledge of NHS Research and Innovation systems and partnerships, including the National Institute for Health and Social Care (NIHR) and local research and innovation infrastructure, partnerships, and networks. The appointee will have experience of successful clinical leadership in the NHS and the leadership and communication skills required to promote inclusive clinical staff engagement in research across the division.

Experience & Qualificationss
Essential criteria
1. •Previous experience in substantive consultant role.
2. •Significant evidence of success in a Consultant leadership role.
3. •Operational management experience.
4. •Business/service planning in management or educational role.
5. •Management of Human Resource issues.
6. •Evidence of ambition and relevant experience / qualifications in clinical leadership.
7. •Evidence of continued professional development.
8. •Understanding of the provision and delivery of health care services, and of the Government’s strategy and plans for modernising health car
9. •Sound understanding of the principles of clinical governance and clinical quality improvement.
10. •Clear understanding of the NHS systems, agenda and strategic issues in healthcare and ability to interpret these in a given setting.
11. •Detailed understanding of current clinical and other issues relating to acute healthcare.
12. •Commitment and passion for customer focused service with the ability to embed such an ethos at all levels of the organisation.
13. •Written and verbal communications.
