The Role:
The successful General Operative will be:
1. Operating the machinery in a safe working manner
2. Checking products for quality on the production line and removing defective items
3. Keeping machines supplied with packaging material and labels
4. Maintaining \ up keeping machinery by conducting regular pre- production checks
5. Reporting machinery faults to shift supervisors and maintenance staff
6. Setting up the production line and making periodic changes needed to manufacture different products.
7. Making minor adjustments to machine settings to improve quality and efficiency
8. Driving a forklift in the yard, in a safe working manner
9. Providing production support, again as required, to other factories/ departments
10. Keeping the machines and work area clean and tidy during the shift
Requirements for the ideal General Operative:
11. Medically fit to undertake the physical requirements of the job
12. Previous experience of automated manufacturing production line and operating systems
13. Adherence to and appreciation for H&S and general housekeeping standards
14. Ability to work quickly to meet deadlines
15. Reliable
16. Works well on own initiative and as part of a team
17. Patience to carry out repetitive tasks.
Hours of work:
18. 4 x 10hrs shifts: Mon - Fri 6am - 4pm
19. Rotating day off each week
