We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN 1:1 Support Assistant to provide tailored support to a pupil with special educational needs. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about helping children reach their full potential. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a SEN 121 Support Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
* Implement strategies outlined in the EHCP and support learning across the curriculum
* Promote independence, confidence, and emotional well-being
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
* Support with behaviour management, communication, and access to learning
* Maintain accurate records of progress and share feedback with staff and parents
Ideal SEN 121 Support Assistant:
* Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 capacity
* A calm, empathetic, and flexible approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEN 121 Support Assistant.
* Understanding of a range of needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) – desirable but not essential
* Knowledge of safeguarding and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children
