Job Title: Payments Assistant
Duration: This is a temporary role, and it is currently due to last until 31st March 2026, but could be extended
Location: Regent House, Regent Close, Torquay, TQ2 7AN
Hours: hours per week
5 days per week, Mon – Fri
Flexible: either 9am - 1pm, 9am - 2pm, 9am - 3pm, 9am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm
Pay Banding: Band 2 – £12.51 per hour
Trust: Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
The postholder must have the following experience:
Administrative experience
Good typing skills
Good customer service
Job Description
Main duties of the job:
· Provide a high-quality payment processing service
· Accurately process supplier invoices and other payments requests through the Unit4 Finance & Procurement system in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
· Ensure that only appropriately authorised invoices and other payment requests are processed for payment
· Ensure that supplier payments are processed promptly in line with Department of Health guidance and in line with agreed contractual terms
· Routinely investigate & resolve non-payment queries with staff and external suppliers, using tact and negotiating a successful outcome
· Identify and escalate any suspicions and concerns relating to correspondence and payment requests to the line manager, in accordance with the organisations standard operating procedures
· Cover for the cashiers Department for sickness and annual leave
· Provide flexibility to the Income Department to cover part time working arrangements, sickness and annual leave

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
