We are currently recruiting for an HGV Technician based in Loughborough, responsible for effectively maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to DVSA standards, supporting the business in its mission of protecting value—whether that be the driver, the goods, our brand, or the brand of our customers.
Salary:
£17.00-£19.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Shift pattern:
Early shifts: 06:00 - 14:30, Monday to Friday; 06:00 - 11:00, Saturday. Lates: 12:00 - 21:30, Monday to Friday. Total: 45 hours per week.

An HGV Technician is responsible for maintaining not only our client's vehicles but also those of external customers. The role requires effective information processing, diagnosing issues, and working in physically and mentally demanding environments.
Responsibilities include:
1. Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to DVSA and company standards.
2. Diagnosing and rectifying faults using your experience, working independently to ensure cost-effective, safe, high-standard repairs.
3. Attending to and repairing disabled vehicles at customer sites.
4. Handling all vehicles carefully and adhering to safety precautions in the workshop and customer premises.
5. Following Health and Safety regulations and company safety procedures.
6. Accurately recording all jobs, times, and ensuring timely completion of job cards and service sheets.
7. Properly labelling and returning parts.
8. Maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
9. Staying updated with DVSA and product developments, participating in training and continuous improvement activities.
10. Being flexible and a team player for personal and business development.
11. Participating in site security requirements.
12. Completing work as directed by supervisors.
About you:
* Technical qualification related to commercial vehicles (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
* Current full driving license
* Good verbal and numerical reasoning skills
* Confidence in your abilities
* Neat, disciplined, and efficient in vehicle maintenance
* Flexible, able to prioritize workload, and support team needs
* Willing to learn and develop skills
* Excellent relationship skills with colleagues and customers
* Understanding of delivering excellent service
* Motivated to work independently
Desirable skills:
* Understanding of commercial vehicles in a rental environment
* Experience with R2C
* HGV and/or Forklift Truck License (not essential)
