This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly, well‑organised GP training and Cambridge University teaching practice. Due to relocation, and to support our practice's approach to a favourable work/life balance, we are looking for a Salaried GP to work 4- 8 sessions per week. We are keen to employ an enthusiastic and motivated GP who will bring a compassionate approach to patient care and become a valuable member of our successful practice team.
Main duties of the job Salaried GPs work as part of the team, sharing duties on different days, e.g.
Conducting telephone and video consultations with patients
Seeing patients face‑to‑face, including home visits where needed
Duty doctor/back up doctor responsible for triaging 'same day' patient concerns via telephone or AccuRx triage
Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
Checking and filing test results and medical reports
Making referrals and signposting patients
Working to achieve high standards on QOF targets by completing reviews and creating care plans for patients
Supporting student doctors through shared consultations and debriefing sessions
Sharing personal expertise through tutorials
Completing requests for medical forms and private reports
Authorising SARs
About us The Red House Surgery is a friendly and hard‑working organisation. Clinical staff include eleven GPs, a GP registrar, clinical pharmacy team, personalised care team, physiotherapists, advanced clinical practitioner, nurses and GPA's. Non‑clinical staff include managers and a team of patient services administrators
Our branch surgery is located at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and provides an opportunity to work with students and staff at the University.

Job responsibilities
To provide safe andeffective General Medical Services, including enhanced services, topatients of and visiting the practice.
Work with the Partners and Practice Manager to effectively manage the practice including workload andavailability while ensuring quality care and supporting colleagues.
Professional Responsibilities

To maintain high standards of clinical practice byensuring the application of available evidence based research and agreedprotocols.
To work in collaboration with the Primary Health Careteam to address identified individual and population needs.
Participate in training and education programmes.
To identify and address own learning needs byparticipation in the processes of personal professional and practicedevelopment planning. To maintain/update PDP, through the appraisal andaccreditation system.
To participate in clinical audits within the practice.
To maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient recordsand registers in accordance with practice policy.
Clinical Responsibilities to include:
To provide General Medical Services to registered andvisiting patients of the practice.
The practice provides a range of enhanced services andyou will be required to provide these services also, in accordance with the relevant Service Level Agreements.
To take responsibility for your patients, i.e. followingup tests, complete relevant paperwork for them, including Medical AttendanceReports from insurance companies and answering queries relating to your patients.
To participate in the Duty Doctor/Triage Doctor andRepeat Prescription Doctor (electronic and paper systems) rotas, from 08.30 - 18.00, and to arrangeto swap duty days when necessary to enable annual or other leave.
To participate in the training of medical students thatare assigned to the practice.
To action your message screen on each of your workingdays, ensuring all messages have been actioned before leaving at the end ofeach day.
To read and action your daily incoming post
To participate in the Buddy system, providing coverfor a specific colleague during their absence.
To liaise with the partners regarding any problempatients you may encounter.
Additional responsibilities
Workconstructively and supportively with the partners and Practice Business Manager.
Contributeactively to change and development processes in the practice includingthose processes which are in partnership with other organisations.
Preparefor, attend meetings and contribute to practice decision-making processes.
Developand maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with thewhole practice team including giving explicit praise where it is merited.
Contributeto developing and maintaining practice systems.
Toattend and participate in regular practice based and external meetingssuch as Clinical Governance, Practice Development, GP Contract, PrimaryHealth Care Team etc. If these meetings are held outside normal workinghours, reasonable notice will be given and you will receive time off inlieu.
Toparticipate in and operate clinical governance methods and systemsapproved by the relevant body, eg medical audit or quality assuranceinitiatives.
Towork with other members of the team towards the achievement of thepractice objectives.
Towork with other members of the team towards the achievement of practicetargets, such as QOF, prescribing etc.
Towork with other members of the team towards the achievement of targetsdefined in raising standards in primary care.
Towork with and support the partners in meeting and sustaining CQC targets.

Keen to promote the use of new initiatives to continually develop and improve the work of the surgery and provide excellent results for patients.
