Position Details
This contract role spans the school year, from September 2, 2025, to June 11, 2026, with a 37.5-hour workweek. We welcome candidates from Newport and nearby Lincoln City to apply!
Your Key Responsibilities
As a School Psychologist, you will:
* Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for both general and special education students.
* Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to develop tailored intervention plans.
* Manage a caseload averaging 1:800 general education students and 1:130 special education students, adjusting as needed.
* Provide crisis intervention and counseling services as necessary.
* Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing your psychological expertise.
* Support school-wide initiatives focused on student mental health and well-being.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
* Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in grades K-6.
* Strong knowledge of psychological testing, assessment tools, and educational laws related to special education.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* The ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload efficiently.
