We’re looking for a Production Shift Manager to lead one of our key production shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations while building a high-performing, engaged team.
What you’ll be doing
As Production Shift Manager, you’ll have full ownership of your shift — balancing people leadership with operational excellence.
You’ll:
* Lead production operations to consistently hit KPI, throughput, and OTIF targets
* Take full accountability for Health & Safety, driving continuous risk reduction and improvement
* Manage and develop Production Supervisors and Machine Controllers
* Ensure food safety, hygiene, and quality standards are met at all times
* Plan production runs to minimise waste and meet customer demand
* Drive continuous improvement across site standards, processes, and performance
* Own shift KPIs — celebrating success and leading root cause analysis when targets aren’t met
* Keep the site audit & visitor ready at all times
* Lead investigations, disciplinaries, and absence management when required
* Develop your people through structured training plans and coaching
* Play an active role in the business’s social and environmental responsibilities
About you
You’re a confident, hands-on leader who knows how to get the best from large, diverse teams.
You’ll bring:
* Proven experience managing large teams in an operational or production environment
* Experience in highly automated, complex production facilities
* IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
* Strong knowledge of risk assessments, safe systems of work, and work instructions
* Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills
* Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (NAV, Citrix, SAP)
