Responsibilities
* Determine project functional requirements and identify stakeholder needs for allocated projects.
* Assist in the development of the Project Execution Plan, including design, safety case, and commissioning strategies.
* Support the project optioneering and decision-making process.
* Develop concept designs and deliver fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
* Prepare and/or approve project technical specifications.
* Oversee detailed design activities in line with design authority standards.
* Prepare modification proposals as required, acting as Nominated Responsible Engineer when appointed.
* Conduct technical reviews and approvals of contractor documentation, including work instructions, method statements, and risk assessments.
* Provide technical oversight of construction and deconstruction activities to ensure alignment with design intent.
* Review and approve as-built drawings.
* Define and supervise commissioning and/or decommissioning activities.
* Manage project handover to operations, ensuring all required drawings, documentation, and training are completed.
* Engage and collaborate with system engineers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to support effective delivery.
* Maintain configuration control across the site during the project lifecycle.
* Adhere to Environment, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality (EHSSQ) policies and promote continuous improvement in these areas.
* Demonstrate a customer-focused approach, contributing across areas of competence as required.
* Review site and off-site events, performing root cause analysis to drive improvements.
* Undertake delegated Design Authority responsibilities and act as an intelligent customer when required.
* Support the development and delivery of training within own technical discipline.
* Participate in emergency scheme duties as required.
* Proven experience in a discipline-specific engineering role (Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, or Civil) within an industrial environment.
* Experience in nuclear and/or conventional project engineering.
* Knowledge of relevant company and/or national engineering standards.
* Working knowledge of Safety Rules and risk assessment methodologies.
* Understanding of Site Licence conditions and Quality Management System requirements.
* Familiarity with the CDM Designer role.
* Demonstrated experience in project delivery.
Qualifications
* Membership of a recognised Engineering Institution.
* Chartered Engineer status.
