We’re working with a well-established specialist contractor that delivers a wide range of groundworks and bulk earthworks services across East Anglia. With a healthy pipeline of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support continued growth and maintain strong commercial control across the business.
This is a great opportunity to join a contractor that self-delivers across the full project lifecycle — from enabling works and deep drainage to foundations and bulk excavation. You’ll work closely with the senior commercial team and site managers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with contractual expectations.
The Role
*
Take ownership of commercial responsibilities across multiple concurrent groundworks and earthworks packages.
*
Prepare applications for payment, variations, final accounts, and internal cost/value reports.
*
Support estimating teams with tender reviews and early-stage pricing analysis.
*
Manage procurement and performance of subcontractors and suppliers.
*
Track project profitability and provide accurate cost forecasting throughout project lifecycles.
*
Liaise with clients, site teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure commercial issues are proactively managed.
*
Contribute to risk management and advise on contractual matters across JCT, NEC and bespoke contract forms.
Requirements
*
Experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within groundworks, earthworks, or general civils.
*
Sound understanding of substructure works, drainage, foundations, and reinforced concrete frames.
*
Able to manage multiple packages and deadlines simultaneously.
*
Familiarity with relevant contract forms (JCT, bespoke, or NEC).
*
Proficient in valuations, cost reporting, and subcontractor management.
*
Strong commercial instincts and a practical mindset suited to fast-moving site environments.
Desirable
*
Previous experience with housing developers or infrastructure clients.
*
Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or similar.
*
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings related to earthworks and substructure.
What’s on Offer
*
Competitive salary based on experience and performance.
*
Company vehicle or car allowance.
*
Ongoing training and support with further development.
*
Opportunity to work on varied projects with a close-knit and respected regional team.
*
Strong local reputation and consistent workload from long-standing client relationships.
