The Opportunity
We have a unique opportunity for an Air Quality & Climate Consultant due to an increasing climate-focused pipeline. You will join our growing Air Quality and Climate team, working on large-scale projects including climate risk assessments, air quality permitting, and environmental assessments. This role offers a chance to shape impactful environmental projects, support business growth, and mentor apprentices. The position is permanent, with flexible hybrid work options across multiple UK locations.
The Role
You will support project delivery within a friendly environment, receiving mentorship and development. Responsibilities include:
* Preparing reports, designs, calculations, and documentation for environmental schemes.
* Conducting qualitative and quantitative air quality assessments.
* Supporting climate risk assessments and developing adaptation plans.
* Assisting in bid writing for tenders.
* Mentoring junior colleagues and promoting health and safety.
Specific Tasks
Air Quality:
* Supporting assessments following relevant guidance.
* Developing and checking dispersion models (ADMS).
* Supporting permit applications and compliance management.
Climate:
* Conducting climate risk assessments using UKCP18, GIS, and other tools.
* Developing resilience strategies and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
* Recommending adaptation and mitigation measures.
Business Development
* Supporting growth initiatives and proposal development.
* Staying updated on climate science and environmental policies.
Qualifications and Skills
* Degree in science or engineering; advanced degree preferred.
* Membership or working towards membership in IAQM and/or IEMA.
* Knowledge of UK/EU environmental legislation and permitting.
* Experience with EIAs, air quality modeling, and climate data.
* Proficiency in GIS, Excel, and project management.
* Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.
* Innovative mindset with entrepreneurial spirit.
