This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual committed to student experience and recruitment to join the Admissions Team within the Student and Academic Administration. The Senior Admissions Officer provides support for the School's Pre-Registration and Post-Registration courses, with applications in excess of 10,000 each recruitment cycle. Alongside the team and SHMS Admissions Manager they will contribute to providing an accurate, efficient and friendly service to applicants, staff and NHS colleagues.
Responsibilities
The role of the Senior Admissions Officer is to supervise a team of Admissions Officers and Admissions Administrators who deliver all Post-Registration, Pre-Registration and Undergraduate activities for the School. They will process applications for various programmes, advise on admissions procedures, oversee selection processes, ensure City St George’s systems are updated, and monitor applications and course targets.
The post holder will plan, coordinate, and participate in events such as Selection Days and Open Days/Evenings, ensuring adequate staffing and promotion. They will facilitate smooth Admissions function by liaising with School Units, Departments, and external partners.

Person Specification
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of admissions processes as well as experience of line management or supervision. In addition, experience of working in a busy customer focused office environment, multi-tasking, and dealing with people from a wide range of backgrounds is essential. Knowledge of the Higher Education sector is desirable.
They will also have excellent communication and organisational skills and will be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including experience of working with databases is essential. Experience with SITS/e:Vision is desirable.
