About Our Opportunity
The role involves working as part of the laboratory quality team to generate accurate measurements of infeed and finished goods performance. The position is based at our Oldbury facility, with hours of work from Monday to Thursday, 8am - 5pm, and Fridays, 6am - 3pm.
What You Will Be Doing
1. Report health and safety issues to management
2. Understand data management, collate data, and produce clear reports
3. Have knowledge of materials properties, especially plastics, metals, and minerals
4. Perform routine analytical testing as part of a team to support plant operations, including analysis of products and incoming feed material
5. Analyze daily samples of infeed and outputs to determine material composition by hand sorting
6. Use sieves for sizing materials
7. Determine target plastic concentrations via density measurement
8. Conduct analytical tests such as XRF for metals and FTIR for plastics
9. Carry out in-process sampling to monitor and improve process performance
10. Sample water treatment processes to ensure safety controls
11. Support other departments like process management, engineering, and production
12. Produce daily sample reports and maintain records
About You
* Basic Excel skills
* Experience in a laboratory analyzing materials is advantageous
