Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance. This role involves working with clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
* Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
* Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
* Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments as needed.
* Assist with behaviour management techniques when required.
Skills
* Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care settings is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of patient care practices and familiarity with hospice care principles is beneficial.
* Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations.
* Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
* Previous experience in caregiving or childcare can be advantageous.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
