Head of Legal – FX/Liquidity/Prime Brokerage
We are currently seeking a Regulatory/Financial Services Lawyer (2-6 PQE) to join the legal team at Finalto. The role will report to the CEO of that business and the successful applicant will cover a broad and interesting range of work including supporting our Prime Brokerage/Liquidity business and working on corporate matters as part of supporting the Finalto group.

As a legal team at Finalto, we work closely together to support each other, and you will have the opportunity to work with other lawyers across the Finalto group and in relation to other parts of the Finalto business. As a business, we have a strong ethos of working across departments and jurisdictions, including our technology division which works alongside our regulated financial services businesses.
You will be based in our London office in Broadgate Tower, and will report to the CEO of our prime brokerage/liquidity business. We are currently operating a hybrid-working model with three days a week in the office, and we expect to continue working on a hybrid basis.
Ideally, you will be someone currently in-house within the FX/Brokerage industry looking to progress their career to the next level with a dynamic and ambitious company.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Delivering and taking responsibility for providing legal support to the Prime Brokerage/Liquidity business.
* Building and maintaining relationships across various other functions in the business, principally compliance and onboarding.
* Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts/agreements and other legal documents with technology, marketing, financial services, and other providers.
* Providing timely and commercially sound legal advice to the business.
* Managing external legal advisors where relevant.
* Alongside others in the legal team, providing corporate support (including liaising with Companies House).

To qualify for the role, ideally you will have
* At least 2-6 years PQE.
* A good grasp of the regulatory landscape in the UK and EU, and a broad understanding of major international regulatory initiatives including MIFID II, EMIR, Financial Crime legislation (including MLRs, MAR, POCA, etc.).
* Practical experience within the financial services industry (either through secondments, working in-house or prior career), preferably with FX/Prime Brokerage/Liquidity businesses.
* Practical experience of drafting a range of commercial agreements, with a focus on those with financial services counterparties, and experience of ISDA agreements.
* Willingness to learn new concepts with minimal guidance.

Ideally, you’ll also have
* Experience working in the Financial Services Regulatory Practice (Non-Contentious and/or Contentious) of a leading UK City or Regional law firm (or equivalent), professional services firm, or regulator.
* Knowledge or experience providing regulatory transaction support (i.e., legal project management, transaction due diligence, etc).
* Experience of corporate filings and associated corporate documentation.
* Practical experience of dealing with a range of “business as usual” legal matters, such as general commercial contracts, data protection, IP issues, employment issues, disputes/litigation and company admin matters.
