Role: Lunch Site Support; Location: Wessex Lodge School, Frome, Somerset BA11 4LA; Salary: £13.25 per hour; Hours: From 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Rota TBC; Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only; Driving: Full UK Driving Licence required; Start: November 2025; Age Requirement: Over 18’s only due to lone working


About the Role

As part of our continued growth, we are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Lunch Site Support Assistant to join our close-knit team at Wessex Lodge School.


Responsibilities

* Prepare and serve breakfast, breaktime, and lunchtime meals to pupils and staff
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
* Manage stock, place food orders, and monitor supplies
* Comply with Health & Safety, food safety, and hygiene legislation
* Support pupil care by being aware of allergies and following safeguarding procedures
* Undertake additional cleaning tasks to maintain overall standards
* Assist in minor first aid incidents under the guidance of the registered first aider
* Contribute positively to the school environment as part of the team


Person Specification

* Knowledge of food safety, COSHH, and cleaning best practices
* Flexible, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team
* Good personal hygiene and ability to follow instructions
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Physically capable of carrying out manual tasks, including lifting
* Willingness to undertake training and adapt to school needs

About Us

Wessex Lodge School comprises three sites: Wessex Lodge Primary School in Kilmington, Wessex Lodge Secondary School in Frome, and Newmead Farm in Maiden Bradley. All sites offer students a range of subject paths, including animal care, horticulture, DT, forest school, and various sporting activities.

Our students are aged between 6 and 18 years old. Each student has individual needs and, supported by the THRIVE approach, we help to improve life outcomes for every student.

The established staff team brings diverse backgrounds and skills, which can be utilised within the school. If you have an interest and/or qualifications in animal care, horticulture, construction, outdoor education, forestry, or any other specific trade or hobby, we would love to hear from you.
