We are looking to appoint a qualified LGV Mechanic to join our team, inspecting, repairing and maintaining our fleet of vehicles, trailers and plant.
The ideal candidate will be:
* Experienced in HGV maintenance and repair
* Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
* Skilled in diagnostics and problem-solving, with good attention to detail
* Adaptable, with a positive approach to change
* Flexible and keen to develop within the company
Responsibilities
* Inspect and repair vehicles, trailers, and plant
* Carry out MOT preparation of vehicles and trailers
* Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
* Service and repair vehicles or components using appropriate tools and equipment
* Maintain current product knowledge and attend relevant training courses
* Undertake welding and fabrication work within the scope of vehicle repair
* Perform any other reasonable duties as workload requires
Qualifications / Experience
* Full UK car driving licence
* City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician
* Proven experience in HGV servicing and repair
* Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
* Experience working with trailers, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
* Familiarity with diagnostic equipment
* C+E (Class 1) licence preferred but not essential

* Confident using diagnostic tools and repair equipment
* Reliable, with strong timekeeping and a responsible attitude
* Hands-on approach and willing to work in varied environments
* Team player who can also work independently when required
* Good communication skills for reporting faults and liaising with colleagues
Location & Conditions
* Location: Based at our Halifax depot, with flexibility and mobility required to carry out tasks at other locations as needed
* Working Hours: 06:00 to 18:00, four on / four off rolling shift pattern, with one hour breaks
* Hourly Rate: £24.57 per hour
* Holidays: 20 days per year including bank holidays
* Company pension scheme (subject to conditions)
* Overnight subsistence paid when working away from base
