Overview
Play a crucial role in the functional and disability assessments process, supporting the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Work Capability Assessment (WCA) as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). You will hold consultations and write fair, accurate reports, working to assess either PIP or WCA (not both). Training and guidance will be provided during the application process to outline which service you will work on and what your training will involve.
You do not need prior experience as a Functional Assessor. We offer an accredited training programme and a dedicated support structure to help you start and develop your career in this area.
Responsibilities
* Hold telephone, video, or in-person consultations with people applying for PIP or a WCA.
* Assess a variety of complex conditions and impairments.
* Use strong verbal communication skills and write high-quality, fair, and accurate assessment reports using a dedicated IT system.
* Collaborate with your line manager to develop your professional skills and career as a Functional Assessor.
Qualifications
Minimum of 12 months post-registration experience as a Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist.
Must hold full registration with one of the following professional bodies: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Work Arrangement

* Salary starting at £39,500, with annual pay reviews based on performance.
* Between £39,500 and £41,500 per annum (depending on location).
